The Excuse That's Costing You More Than You Think
The Weight of Excuses
The most dangerous excuses are the ones that sound reasonable.
They sound responsible.
They sound logical.
They sound like good reasons to wait.
"I just need a little more time."
"I'll start after things slow down."
"I want to make sure I'm ready."
"I'll begin on Monday."
The problem isn't that these statements sound wrong.
The problem is that they quietly become a way of life.
One week becomes one month.
One month becomes one year.
And eventually you realize you've been postponing the very life you've been praying for.
Here's the hard truth:
Most excuses aren't protecting you.
They're preventing you.
They keep you from the difficult conversation.
The first workout.
The business you've talked about starting.
The apology you've needed to make.
The boundaries you've been afraid to set.
Excuses rarely destroy a man overnight.
They slowly convince him that tomorrow is always a better day than today.
🟩│ "If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn't do it, it is sin." — James 4:17
Most of us don't need more information.
We already know the conversation we need to have.
The habit we need to break.
The discipline we need to build.
The forgiveness we need to offer.
The decision we need to make.
The challenge isn't knowing.
The challenge is doing.
Every day we delay what we already know is right, we give another excuse permission to lead our lives.
Forged Truth
Every excuse has a cost.
It costs you time.
It costs you growth.
It costs you confidence.
Most of all...
It costs you becoming the man God is calling you to be.
Forged Action
This week, write down one excuse you've been repeating.
Just one.
Then ask yourself one question:
"If this excuse disappeared today, what would I do?"
Now go do that.
Not perfectly.
Not fearlessly.
Just faithfully.
Close
Excuses don't build men.
Action does.
The life you've been asking God for may be waiting on the other side of the excuse you've been believing.
Stop waiting.
Start moving.
