What Do You Do When God Isn't Answering?
When God Feels Silent
There are seasons when prayer feels different.
You pray.
You wait.
You ask for direction.
And nothing seems to happen.
No clear answer.
No open door.
No obvious sign of what comes next.
If you've followed Christ long enough, you've probably experienced it.
I know I have.
Our instinct is to assume silence means something is wrong.
Maybe God isn't listening.
Maybe we've missed something.
Maybe we're supposed to force a decision.
But God's silence doesn't mean God's absence.
Sometimes the waiting itself is where He's doing the deepest work.
🟩│ "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him." — Psalm 37:7
Those are difficult words for men who are accustomed to action.
We solve.
We fix.
We move.
We make decisions.
Waiting feels passive.
But biblical waiting isn't doing nothing.
It's continuing to trust when you can't see what's happening.
It's praying when you don't have an answer.
It's obeying what you already know while waiting for clarity about what you don't.
It's refusing to manufacture an outcome simply because you're uncomfortable with uncertainty.
Sometimes God changes the situation.
Sometimes He changes us while we're waiting.
And sometimes we don't understand what He was doing until much later.
Faith is easy when the path is obvious.
Trust is forged when it isn't.
Forged Truth
God's silence is not evidence of God's absence.
When you don't know what He's doing, remain faithful to what He's already asked you to do.
Forged Action
Identify one area where you've been demanding an answer.
Instead of asking God again to show you the entire path, ask:
"What do You want me to be faithful to today?"
Then do that.
Pray.
Listen.
Obey what's clear.
And give God room to handle what isn't.
Close
You won't always understand the season you're in.
You won't always get the answer when you want it.
But you don't need to see the entire road to take the next faithful step.
Keep praying.
Keep listening.
Keep obeying.
And when God seems quiet, don't mistake silence for abandonment.
He's still there.
Hold the Line,
