The Weight You're Carrying Was Never Yours

Stop Carrying Tomorrow

Have you ever noticed how exhausting it is to fight battles that haven't happened yet?

We replay conversations that haven't taken place.

We worry about problems that don't exist.

We imagine outcomes we can't control.

We carry the weight of tomorrow while neglecting the responsibilities God has placed in front of us today.

Before long, we're mentally exhausted—not because of what we've actually faced, but because of everything we've imagined.

The truth is, anxiety often comes from trying to control what only God can control.

We tell ourselves we're being responsible.

That we're planning ahead.

But there's a difference between preparing wisely and worrying endlessly.

Preparation is an act of stewardship.

Worry is an attempt to carry a burden God never asked us to carry.

Jesus knew this struggle well.

That's why He gave us one of the most freeing commands in Scripture.

🟩│ "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." — Matthew 6:34

Notice that Jesus doesn't say tomorrow won't have challenges.

He simply reminds us that today's grace is for today's burdens.

God gives you strength for today.

Wisdom for today.

Peace for today.

He doesn't promise tomorrow's grace a day early.

When we insist on carrying tomorrow, we often rob ourselves of the peace God is offering us today.

Ask yourself this:

What burden am I carrying that God never asked me to hold?

Is it your finances?

Your children?

Your business?

Your health?

Your future?

Your marriage?

Those things matter.

But worrying about them won't change them.

Faithful action might.

Prayer certainly will.

Trust absolutely does.

The strongest men aren't the ones who carry the most.

They're the ones who know what to lay down at the feet of Christ.

Forged Truth

God never promised you tomorrow's answers today.

He promised today's grace for today's assignment.

Forged Action

Take five quiet minutes today.

Write down every burden that's been occupying your mind.

Next to each one ask yourself:

"Is this mine to carry today, or is this something I need to entrust to God?"

Then pray over that list.

Do what you can faithfully today.

Leave tomorrow in God's hands.

Close

You don't have to ignore tomorrow.

You don't have to pretend challenges don't exist.

But you also don't have to carry them alone.

God has never asked you to shoulder the weight of the future.

He's simply asked you to trust Him one day at a time.

Live faithfully today.

Trust Him with tomorrow.

That's where peace begins.

"Peace doesn't come from knowing what tomorrow holds. It comes from trusting the One who already does."

The Battle You Don't Realize You're Losing
Attention is Stewardship One of the greatest lies of our generation is that our most valuable resource is time. It isn't. Every man gets twenty-four hours in a day. What separates one life from another isn't the amount of time he's been given. It's what has his attention. Attention is one of the greatest gifts God has entrusted to us. Where you place it determines what grows. When your attentio...
What's Quietly Shaping the Man You're Becoming?
Guard Your Gates Every day, you're letting something into your mind. A conversation. A podcast. A news headline. A social media feed. A television show. A group of friends. A book. A song. None of these seem significant on their own. But over time, they begin to shape how you think, what you value, and ultimately, who you become. Most men are careful about what they eat. They'll read nutrition ...
Why Most Men Never Become Consistent
The Power of Showing Up Most men don't fail because they lack potential. They fail because they underestimate the power of simply showing up. We celebrate the big moments—the promotion, the finish line, the breakthrough, the transformation. But those moments are only visible because of hundreds of unseen decisions that came before them. The husband who has a strong marriage didn't build it in o...
