What are you doing with what God gave you?
Steward What You've Been Given.
It's easy to look at another man's life and see what he has that you don't.
More money.
More opportunity.
A bigger business.
A stronger marriage.
More influence.
Different talents.
And if we're not careful, we can spend so much time looking at what someone else has been given that we neglect what God has already placed in our own hands.
I've caught myself doing this more times than I'd like to admit.
We compare.
We question.
We wonder why someone else's path seems easier or why their opportunities seem bigger.
But comparison asks the wrong question.
The question isn't:
"Why didn't God give me what He gave him?"
The better question is:
"What am I doing with what God gave me?"
Because everything we have is ultimately something we've been entrusted with.
Our time.
Our abilities.
Our money.
Our relationships.
Our opportunities.
Our influence.
Even the experiences we've lived through.
We tend to think ownership.
God teaches stewardship.
That changes the way you look at your life.
Instead of asking what you're missing, you begin asking whether you're faithfully using what's already in your hands.
🟩│ "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things." — Matthew 25:21
Notice what Jesus praises.
Not comparison.
Not status.
Not how much the servant started with.
Faithfulness.
The servant wasn't responsible for what someone else had been given.
He was responsible for what had been entrusted to him.
So are we.
Maybe you don't have everything you want yet.
That's okay.
What are you doing with what you have now?
How are you using your time?
How are you leading your family?
How are you using your gifts?
How are you handling your finances?
How are you using your influence?
How are you serving the people God has placed around you?
We spend a lot of our lives asking God for more.
More opportunity.
More resources.
More influence.
More clarity.
Maybe sometimes the better prayer is:
"God, show me how to be faithful with what You've already given me."
Forged Truth
You aren't responsible for another man's assignment.
You're responsible for yours.
Stop measuring your life against what someone else has been given and start faithfully stewarding what's already in your hands.
Forged Action
Take inventory this week.
Write down five things God has entrusted to you.
Your time.
Your family.
Your finances.
Your health.
Your abilities.
Your influence.
Your opportunities.
Whatever comes to mind.
Then ask yourself:
"Am I being a good steward of this?"
Don't try to fix everything.
Choose the one area where you know you've been careless, passive, or distracted.
Then take one intentional action this week to steward it better.
Close
You don't need another man's life.
You don't need another man's gifts.
And you don't need another man's assignment.
God has already placed something valuable in your hands.
Your responsibility is to use it well.
Be faithful with what's in front of you.
Take care of what God has entrusted to you.
And trust Him with what comes next.
